An incident happened in Uttarakhand, People of the Muslim community pelted stones at the police, administration, and municipal team that went to demolish the illegal madrasa and prayer place built on government land (Nazul) in the famous Banbhulpura area of the city. During this, the miscreants also attacked the Banbhulpura police station.

 

 

Dozens of vehicles of police and media personnel parked there were set on fire. The policemen escaped from the police station and saved their lives. Because of the tense situation, the administration imposed a curfew in the area at night and orders were also issued to shoot the miscreants. Instructions were also issued to keep all schools in the city closed on Friday. More than 250 people injured in stone pelting, including women SDM and SP, are undergoing treatment in hospitals, while one person has died. Banbhulpura is the same area where the high court had last year ordered the eviction of a settlement of 50,000 people on railway land.

The police administration had also made full preparations to remove the encroachment. Meanwhile, the matter reached the Supreme Court and is currently under consideration. The madrasa and prayer place built years ago on government land (nazul land) in Malik Ka Garden of Banbhulpura were found by the municipal team only last month. At around 5 pm on Thursday, the administration, police, and municipal corporation team arrived with bulldozers to break the encroachment.
